SoloKey Data Deletion
Updated on July 18, 2026
SoloKey has no user accounts and stores no data in the cloud: all your information lives encrypted on your devices. Because of this, deleting your data is entirely under your control and requires no request to the developer.
What data exists and where
All SoloKey data (your encrypted vault, the cryptographic keys and the App preferences) is stored locally on your Android device or on the Windows desktop companion. There is no data on the developer’s servers or on third-party servers.
How to delete your data
Option 1: delete content inside the App
You can delete individual credentials or completely wipe the vault from the App’s own options. This action removes the corresponding data from your device.
Option 2: uninstall the App
When you uninstall SoloKey, the operating system removes its local database and the associated keys kept in the device’s secure storage. After uninstalling, no App data remains on the device.
On Android: long-press the SoloKey icon and choose “Uninstall”, or go to Settings, Apps, SoloKey, Uninstall.
Sync
If you used P2P sync, repeat the deletion on every device where you installed the App, since each one keeps its own local copy.
Exported backups
If you exported encrypted backups (.skvault files, including those created by the scheduled backup), those files live in the folders you chose and are not removed when you uninstall the App. Delete them manually to complete the removal.
No remote data to request
Since there are no accounts or cloud copies, there is no information the developer could retain or would need to delete upon request. Once you delete the data on your devices, the deletion is final.
